Dwight L. Bolinger, English linguistic expert and scholar of the Spanish language, was a visiting professor at Stanford University from 1978 until his death in 1992. He earned his AB at Washburn College in 1930, his MA at the University of Kansas in 1932, and his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin in 1936.
